A good electrician sees the bigger picture. If you ask a good electrician to perform a certain job for you, they should let you know whether they think this is the best solution for you. They will consider whether they can save you money by having the job done in a different way. A bad electrician will just do the job without any thought.
Consider the quality of the work
A bad electrician finishes the job, isn’t happy with it but leaves it how it is. A good electrician finishes the job and, if they aren’t happy, will carry on working until they are.
Regulations
A good electrician will also understand the electricity regulations and how they impact the job in hand. They will keep up to date with new and changing regulations. Simply doing a job because that is the way you’ve always done it is not providing a great service.
Endorsements
Repeat custom is another indicator of how good you are as an electrician. Look for testimonials about the person or company. Word-of-mouth recommendations are great too. Seeing what other people have said is a great indicator of whether the electrician does a good job.

A good electrician will also hold industry-recognised qualifications, have relevant experience and take pride in their work.
